The Cervera sports area has been equipped with new equipment, with rest areas and bicycle repair, which reinforce the tourist and leisure content of the Sion Valley route.
It is a parking module for 10 bicycles, which is a steel structure of some sizes 4 x 2 metres, with an electronic opening device and with a connection to charge electric bikes.
And a self-service station for bicycle maintenance and repair, which contains hand tools and an air pump to inflate the wheels. The structure is complemented by the installation of informative and touristic content on the sides.
The new infrastructures have represented an investment of 32.000 euros, funded with Next Generation EU funds. The performance is part of the Vall del Sió food and wine route project, which is executed by the Provincial Council of Lleida, within the framework of the Tourism Sustainability Strategy in destinations within the Recovery Plan, transformation and resilience.
Turisme Cervera values this route as an opportunity to highlight the heritage of the municipality and as a way to enhance synergies between the different actors and agents related to tourism and sport.
With the installation of the new equipment, an increase in demand for active tourism is expected, which complements the services and products currently offered by Turisme Cervera.
