The day of Saturday, central day of the Aquelarre, it was crowded from noon until well into the morning. The lighting in Plaça Universitat gave the start to a memorable night with a central show that this year had as its protagonist the figure of the Mad King, which recreates the darkest legend of Philip V, who went mad after acceding to the throne.
Alea Teatre has mobilized more than 200 people in a visual and street show with baroque touches and from the Aquelarre universe with all the tradition of the party. After midnight the Ball of the Polla arrived, in Cal Racó; until the subsequent invocation of the Male Goat, in a highly anticipated second act as well, and the last act with the double slide and the Foqueral of the Ball of Devils Carrenquers de Cervera.
The group The Papa's and The Popo's was responsible for playing the music between acts at Cal Racó.
In the afternoon, the center of attention was for Aquelarret, the children's parade that introduces the rogue into the entire Aquelarre universe. With the start of the route in the Place Universitat and the final stop in the Place Magdalena in Montclar, with the appearance of Cabronet, young and old enjoyed themselves in a completely consolidated family proposition.
Doctor Prats Concert
The other great moment of the night was Doctor Prats' concert, which gathered a crowd in Plaça Magdalena de Montclar. The musical headliner of the XLIX edition of Aquelarre made the audience dance as part of the tour of his new record work, F5, a long-awaited album after a temporary hiatus from the group, which celebrates ten years on stage. The other musical spaces of Aquelarre were in Plaça Major and Santa Anna with DJs and proposals for all audiences.
The Gran Boc Fair
Another of the claims of the Aquelarre, which is open from Friday to Sunday. The Gran Boc Fair has made the University's courtyards smaller in an edition with more stalls, conferences and workshops related to witchcraft, esotericism and magic.
The gastronomic offer this year has been successfully moved to the Rambla de Lluís Sanpere, which has been a point of rest and meeting all this weekend.
The camping space has reached full occupancy with the public able to stay throughout the weekend and use the Cervera municipal swimming pool.
Friday's events
The Aquelarre weekend program began on Friday with the Bestiary Meeting and the Parade of Fire with the participation of the Aimeric Dragon from the Vall d’Ondara, of the Dragon of Vilanova i la Geltrú, of the Dragon of the Monks of Santa Margarida and the Monks, of the Beast of Walls of the Vallès and of the Carrancó Bilandó and the Tarasca of Cervera. On Friday, the Band Tokades also performed with the percussion showArkhe in the main square.
