The Paeria de Cervera opened its doors so that citizens could freely and for free discover some of the most emblematic and unknown spaces of the building. A hundred people took advantage of the day, in a proposal that also aroused the interest of pedestrians passing through Plaça Major.
With the title "The Paeria from Bat to Bat", the activity was the seventh proposal of the cycle of guided tours Recorrent el Temps, promoted in the framework of the Millennium. The day allowed access to spaces that are not normally open to visitors and that are only open to the public on very specific and special occasions, as during the Festa Major del Sant Crist.
The visit was attended by members of the Cervera Heritage Interpreters Association and the Cervera Bell Ringers Association, distributed by the different points of the route. The interpreters brought the history of the Paeria closer to the visitors, the singularities of the building and the value of the different heritage elements, in an open format that allowed the tour to be done at everyone's own pace.
Total, seven spaces could be discovered: the facade of the building, he gel pou, the portrait room of the Austrians, the portrait room of the Bourbons, the exchange table, the assembly hall and the bell tower.
With this proposal, The Tourism Office has closed a new visit of the cycle Recorrent el Temps, an initiative that allows you to discover different episodes throughout the year, spaces and characters from the history of Cervera, bringing local heritage closer to both citizens and visitors.
