Cervera celebrates Seniors Week with twenty activities, from 1 to 18 October, to promote active aging and encourage the participation of the elderly population.

The opening was carried out by the initiative "Open space for active aging", organized by the Paeria de Cervera and the Regional Council of Segarra, inside the Casal Cívic due to the rain. It has been a space for entertainment and activities from the fun side, physical, emotional, cognitive and reminiscence.

It has had the participation of users of the Josep Valls Comprehensive Centre, of the Mare Janer and Mare Güell residences, the Ondara Sió Mental Health Association, the Cancer Association, the Civic House, the Chancellor Dou University Extension Room, the CAP of Cervera, Caritas and the sardanist gang Jovencells .

Subsequently, the public reading of the Manifesto of the International Day of the Elderly 2026. It was carried out by representatives of the Association of Users and Volunteers of the Casal Cívic, of the University Extension Room, of the Consultative Council of the Senior Citizens of La Segarra, of the Center of comprehensive day Josep Valls, of the sardanist group of the Old People's Home and the "Health and Friendship" walks.

The presentation was made by the president of the Regional Council of Segarra, Ramon Augé, i of the paer in cap, Jan Pomés, who "showed their recognition to the elderly and thanked them for their active participation in society".

The event was organized on October 1, coinciding with the International Day of the Elderly. The day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1990 with the aim of recognizing the fundamental role of the elderly in society and promoting their rights and well-being.
