Enrique Barón was received, Thursday 26 September, by the father in chief, Jan Pomés; the 1st deputy mayor, Ramon Augé; the councilor for Economic Promotion, Raimond Fusté; and the councilor for Heritage, Monte Closa.
He visited the Paeria de Cervera building, where he was impressed by the architectural beauty and history of the building. In the Plenary Hall he received a gift and signed the Book of Honor of the Paeria.
Enrique Baron and Crespo (Madrid, 1944) was president of the European Parliament between 1989 and the 1992. In his extensive political career he has also been a councilor in the Madrid City Council, Member of Congress and Minister of Transport, Tourism and Communications.
Lawyer and economist, has published numerous books, essays and articles on political issues, economic and social.
It is located in Cervera, where this weekend he participates as a speaker in the seminar "The European Movement and the Council of Europe", which organizes the European Movement at the Paranimf of the University.
