The Paeria de Cervera organized, Friday 22 November, a splendid act of switching on the Christmas lights, which was a success, with a very large public attendance in the Plaça Major.
The opening of the lights was in charge of the father in chief, Jan Pomés, councilors of the Consistory and representatives of the merchants' associations of Cervera.
The event also included previous activities such as a lantern workshop, in the painting rooms of the Paeria, with the participation of 90 infants, and a carol singing by the Nova Cervera Children's Choir, in the main square.
The activities ended with the delivery of cake and chocolate to the children for a snack.
Christmas lights in Cervera
The main news of the·this year's Christmas lights are the reinforcement of Carrer Major, with the installation·lation of 8 more points of light, and they combine remembering the historical beauty of the great old paper sets that are still preserved in some scenes·location of a large Christmas ball in Plaça de la Universitat.
In total they have been installed·years 93 points of lights, distributed through the streets of Cervera and the towns of the municipality.
