The second edition of the renewed Christmas Market organized by the Paeria de Cervera was a success, with the presence of more than 40 exhibitors and the influx of many visitors from all over.
The Market, which took place on Saturday 7 December, it was distributed in three different spaces: Plaza Mayor, Carrer Major and Plaça de Santa Anna.
Plaça Major was dedicated to the primary sector, with the presence of local products and the assembly of an animal pen. The children were able to enjoy pony rides and wooden games for the whole family.
On the main street they settled·home more than 40 stalls of local businesses and others from the towns of Lleida and Barcelona, in a route of almost half a kilometer where you could find all the products typical of the Christmas festivities.
In the square of Santa Anna was the Fair of Entities of Cervera, where local associations had the opportunity to make themselves known, explain their work and bring their commitment to the public and visitors. About twenty organizations participated, who also organized activities open to everyone.
This year the Market opened with a live musical performance by the group La Follia, who are going to present the song “Nadal x you”, Lleida Televisió's Christmas.
The head priest took part in the opening ceremony, Jan Pomés, and councilors of the Consistory, who subsequently visited and welcomed the exhibitors of the Market. They also inaugurated the nativity scene, which is organized by the Associació de Pessebristes de Cervera at the church of Sant Joan, and they handed out the prizes for the school drawing competition, organized by the Campaners de Cervera on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the Seny Major and Carranca bells.
