Sunday 14 of May there will be a concert by the jazz trio formed by Guillem García, piano; Henry Carpenter, drums; and Camil Arcarazo, double bass. Within the XLIV cycle of spring concerts, will be the presentation in Cervera of the first album by the Barcelona pianist Guillem García.
The concert will take place in the Municipal Auditorium, them 19 hours.
Guillem Garcia, who is a professor at the Cervera Conservatory of Music, he makes a compilation of his own compositions from different stages of his life as an artist (2017-2021).
In this work he develops his own style and language, in constant evolution, both in the field of composition and interpretation. The creation of the works starts from sincerity and the whole compositional process has been an exercise in analyzing the artist's aesthetic tastes and needs.
The first piece of 'Resina’ comes in the form of a three-movement suite and is called 'The Dances of the Monsters'. A work written on 2021 and that is one al·read to anxieties, depressions and other anxieties that we all suffer at one time or another. The title suggests dancing with them for sheer survival. The three pieces that follow are three dedications: Green eyes’ is a work composed between the 2017 and the 2018 which has been evolving until the very moment of registering it. The theme wants to play with the concept of synaesthesia. Guillem García wants the listener to experience a journey along the piece where he will pass through different color palettes starting with dark tones and ending with a hopeful luminosity.
‘Nora’ is the name of a student of Guillem García to whom he dedicates this song. The artist found the little girl, of only 8 years, a source of inspiration. The girl, who lost his father to an illness, has never lost the il·hope, energy, joy and happiness.
'Resin’ is the title and single of this album. This piece is the first composed by Guillem García in his entire career, and is motivated and inspired by one of its references in all aspects, his grandmother. The theme was written a year after the death of the godmother, and wants to be a song in life, the generosity, altruism and love.
Guillem Garcia (Barcelona, 1994) he begins his musical studies with the classical accordion and als 19 years turns to jazz and does so by adopting the piano as the main instrument. He studied at the Liceu Conservatory with professors such as Roger Mas, Albert Bover, Tony Cowboy, Sergi Vergés and Horacio Fumero, others. He is currently part of the country's jazz scene. Following the pandemic, he decides to focus more on his own projects and starts his own trio that gives light to this album. He is also currently a professor at the Cervera Music Conservatory.

The Paeria Youth Council organizes the 3rd Cervera Sound, a music competition with the purpose of promoting the initiatives and talent of young people, of among 12 i 35 years, of the Segarra.
Participation is open to all artists, musical groups and young DJs from the region, with members of 12 i 35 years, whether they are novices or semi-professionals and who do not have a contract with a representation agency.

As in previous editions, the initiative is organized jointly with the Youth Department of the Commune of Escaldes-Engordany (Andorra), which promotes Escaldes Sound.
The prize for the winning artist or group of Cervera Sound will be a live performance in the parish of Escaldes-Engordany (Andorra) within the commemorative events of International Youth Day.
In addition to the performance in Andorra, will also perform in Cervera in a joint concert with the winner of the Escaldes Sound.
Voting to choose the winners
Participating artists or groups will send a theme that will be published on the YouTube channel of the Youth Space El Racó de Cervera. Once the different topics are published, citizens can vote by accessing the chosen video and clicking the "Like" button. The voting period will be open from 1 to 30 June (both included).
The winner will be announced on Tuesday 4 of July through social networks, website and application of Espai Jove El Racó.
Good reception of the contest

The literary and musical show "Les Bertranettes", which claims the figure of the writer and cellist·list Aurora Bertrana, gave the start to the activities organized in Cervera, of the 18 al 23 d'abril, on the occasion of Sant Jordi's Cultural Week.

The general director of Cultural Heritage, Sonia Hernández; the head of the Museum Service, Sonia Blasco; and the director of the Territorial Services of Culture in Lleida, Albert Turull, they attended the presentation of this project and the Wheat Museum, in an event that took place at the Cervera Museum on Saturday 1 d'abril.
The renovation of the ground floor of Casa Duran i Sanpere and the reopening of the Wheat Museum are two actions planned in the Strategic Plan of the Museum of Cervera 2022-2025.
The general director of Cultural Heritage, Sonia Hernández “congratulated the Cervera Museum for the implementation of the Strategic Plan” and it goes “encourage those responsible for the equipment to continue working with the same determination”. He affirmed that "the Directorate General of Heritage will be by his side".
The chief paer, Joan Santacana, stated that "the Strategic Plan is not just for the Museum but that it transcends the whole city". He highlighted the commitment to "make a more open and transparent museum".

Remodeling of the Duran i Sanpere House
Another challenge for the Cervera Museum is to strengthen and improve its main headquarters, at Casa Duran i Sanpere.
The project envisages carrying out works on the ground floor for the renovation of the reception and the temporary exhibition hall, and the creation of a new reserve area for col·historical lessons.
A new visitor reception and interpretation space will be created to understand the Duran house and the city of Cervera.
As for the temporary exhibition hall, it is planned to be unified on a single floor.
With the renovation works, it is also intended to contribute to reinforcing the story of the city and to contribute to consolidating the presence of the equipment on Carrer Major. A joint cultural offer will be scheduled with Casa Dalmases and actions will be promoted in empty storefronts to boost trade.
