The fourth edition of the Villa de Cervera Book, to be held between 18 and the 20 October, this year will focus on the literature of war as a seed of peace.
Coinciding with the Catalan Capital of Culture 2019 Cervera and commemorate 80 years of the end of the Civil War and the beginning of World War II, literary festival in western Catalonia proposes his poster slogan “more books, fewer conflicts”.
Among the most prominent are rotated around, Barbal Maria will be there to present his latest novel·the, A Scottish friend (Column), Pallars war; and Gabriel Ferrater will have a special place with the recital In rememberence – which follows the homonymous poem about the Civil War-, and the inaugural festival, by editor Jordi Cornudella, and will have a table dedicated to the Club Editor presence of his head, Maria Bohigas, to discuss his extensive catalog in relation to war, with titles like Diamond Square The Quanta, how much war… by Mercè Rodoreda, uncertain Glory by Joan Sales or the recently published one Between two silences Aurora Bertrana.
War band, Book Village will offer its usual catalog of activities designed for all ages. There will be tables with the presence of authors Jaume Cabré, which will bring to the public three tests (Bow); Montse Barderi, which will present The memory of water (Column), Prudence awarded the Bertrana; Pol Beckman with Novel·the (notebooks Cream), Bookseller Award 2019, among many others. Gonzalo Boye i Ramon Tremosa, in addition to presenting their respective books, a literary star vermouth with a debate that will focus, probably, on the Supreme Court ruling. There will also be a place for new voices in the literary Xavier Mas Craviotto, Documenta Prize winner 2018 per The slow death (Another Publisher), and John Santanach, that despite not being released in the new novel·the with the Alive (Meteora). Likewise, There will also be space for local authors like Bernard Ramon Huguet Brief.
Young people and children can enjoy activities designed especially for them as they have prepared gymkhana literary detective from the Pirate Editions; the spectacle of storytelling Laberta Delpoblet “Hello, I'm Teresa”, a journey through the life of Teresa Pàmies; or tailoring workshop paper bin, to learn the craft of paperaire and to prepare the first sheets themselves.
As always, the market for independent publishers play a central role in the village, both its importance and its location, extended along the main street of Cervera. In this year, more 30 publishers and booksellers mounted stop there and take part in activities organized.
During the weekend there will also place for entertainment, as the concert of Big Mama Montse, which will close this year's Villa; and to remember that the perpetrators are no longer, Teresa Pàmies and Joan Brossa, celebrating the centenary of his birth this year and will be present in Cervera through commemorative activities and exhibitions.

Cervera Capital of Catalan Culture 2019 multiplies and diversifies events this week, in which the activities are framed in the context of the Festival of the Holy Christ.
Shares begin Thursday 19 of September in the Flour Mill with the inauguration of the sample 'Near Hollywood', in which a tribute is paid to the Cerverino brothers Frederic Gomez and Claudio Grau, photographers who portray Hollywood years 50 of the twentieth century. With his camera, Gomez made the most of Grau 6.000 snapshots with participants shooting and so·chandeliers with Ava Gardner, Charlton Heston, Sophia Loren o Rita Hayworth.
From Friday 20, Cervera will be filled with narrators and specialists in the art of storytelling. They are the protagonists of 'Segamots', the last leg of a project that began with ‘Contes a la Catxipanda’ and continued with ‘Magatzem de moments’. This time, and in the framework of the Festival, three narrators (Tania Múñoz, Naomi Caballer i Martha Escudero) will kick off the event at 20.30 hours in the main square. Throughout the weekend there will be performances in emblematic places.
The new Giant Black
XXXVIII Meeting of Giants Cervera will recover and baptize the black giant, a figure that was part of the last couple of the Brotherhood of the Holy Spirit. With the disappearance of the organization, those left out. The last time was 1920. now, almost a century later, the old giant black, which has been rebuilt with traditional techniques, tornar part of the courtship dance festival of Santo Cristo de Cervera.

Cerverí rider Marc Márquez added his seventh victory of the season in beating San Marino Grand Prix, played Sunday 15 September Misano circuit.
Marc Márquez, starting from the fifth position, has made a great start, col·placing himself third after the first lap. The cultural week Isagoge, prelude to the Festival, will be dedicated this year to remember the poet Jaime Ferran Camps (1928-2006), photographers Claudio Gomez Grau (1907-1989) and Frederic Gómez Grau (1920-2013), and historian and translator Marie Grau Aymà (1897-1982).
