“Cervera Vila del Llibre” the year·the edition 2020

As a preventive measure against the current health scenario caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the literary festival of the Western Lands, “Cervera Vila del Libre 2020”, cancel·its celebration, initially planned for this month of October.

La Paeria de Cervera and VilaDelLlibre.CAT announce that the fifth edition of “Cervera, Town of the Book” this one will not be celebrated 2020 as a protective measure against the current health scenario caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision responds to the impossibility of maintaining the spirit of the initiative - a weekend cultural proposal able to attract a large number of visitors to Carrer Major thanks to a program with more than 60 activities-, while respecting compliance with the current regulatory framework for containment of the pandemic and protecting the population.

Besides, the exceptional nature of the situation and the health emergency, economic and social that it has created, has forced the Municipal Government to prioritize work to mitigate the negative consequences left by the virus and to postpone important cultural events this year, as is the case of the Book Village.

However, Paeria has opted for a safe culture, organizing innovative cultural projects such as the “Festiuada. Moments of art and marinade" throughout the months of July, August and September, and also the Isagoge cultural week and Festa Major.
