Monday 10 The registration period for the “Cervera Sound” competition has opened in May, a project shared between the Department of Youth of the Paeria de Cervera and the Department of Youth of the Municipality of Escaldes-Engordany (Andorra), which aims to encourage and promote the musical production of young people among 12 i 35 years of the two territories.
er participate in the contest, Cervera artists / bands or record players must fill out a form (that you will find on the social networks of the Espai Jove “El Racó”), along with an unpublished topic or session (with a maximum duration of 5 minutes for soloists / bands and 10 minutes for turntables).
Once the registration period has ended, the Department of Youth will post all the works on its Youtube channel, by which it will be possible to vote (indicating "Like" or "Dislike").
Finally, in mid-July, the winning artist / record label / group will be announced, which will be played in August in Escaldes-Engordany, within the events of World Youth Day.
The Councilor for Youth, Meritxell Ramon, values the initiative very positively, since “it is not very common to find projects of this type between two local Youth services”. Besides, hopes that the competition will be "the first of many actions coordinated with other local youth services".

The Tourism Department of the County Council has started, Wednesday 5 May, the promotional campaign that wants to attract visitors to La Segarra in the coming months.
The proposal is based on several actions that will be implemented over the coming weeks, and that Wednesday 5 in May have shown the first of the impacts with a spot of 20 according to which it will be broadcast on TV3 every Wednesday and every Thursday for five weeks.
The video, which is also available in a longer format, will be used to project on other platforms, as the main social networks, thus being able to segment to reach the target audience more easily.
He video features the tourist assets of La Segarra and that they confer a quality destination; a region with a lot of history, located in a privileged natural environment, in which a great diversity of activities can be carried out and without crowds.
In an uncertain time like today, by the effects of the crisis arising from the Covid-19, the campaign aims to reach especially the local tourist who changes trips to distant destinations for shorter journeys. That is why it wants to reach the Catalan public and the nearest territories.
In this way, the county councilor for Tourism, Montserrat Farrera, noted the changing habits of tourists due to the current situation, with more last minute bookings and longer stays. In this way, “La Segarra becomes a magnificent destination to be able to make a pleasure getaway, to disconnect, to enjoy nature and discover a close environment ”, Farrera stressed.
Tourism is one of the tools that can help reactivate the activity of the region, and that allows to invigorate the tourist sector of the lodgings, catering, visits, etc. as in the rest of the business world.

A group of residents of the old town has worked, voluntarily, in the conditioning and improvement of the garden area next to the Portal dels Pous, to the wall of Cervera.
The event took place on Sunday 2 May, from 16 a 20 hours, and gathered about twenty people, who worked on clearing the space, in the conditioning of terraces and later they planted trees and aromatic plants.
According to the paer in chief and councilor of Municipal Services, Joan Santacana, "The improvement of this space is very obvious and can be enjoyed by all citizens". From the Paeria de Cervera "we congratulate the neighborhood for the initiative and thank all the people who participated".
This year has been the third edition of this neighborhood initiative, who spends a day gardening an area of the old town and during the rest of the year also maintains it.

The Economic Promotion Area, Tourism, Culture and Festivals has worked on an annual calendar that aims to collect all the cultural and festive activities of Cervera, which will be published in a bimonthly agenda, which bears the name “La Traça”, from this May.
"La Traça" is created with the same essence for which the Festival was born: schedule activities on the streets of Cervera to generate cultural and festive activities, so necessary always, but especially in the times we are living in and, while, promote the brewing trade.
According to the Councilor for Festivities, Mireia Brandon, “We didn’t want to call it by the typical name ofcultural agenda, as it is called in many places, but we wanted to give him personality and soul. That's why we named it The Trace, cultural and festive activities in Cervera”.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Tourism and Culture, Mercè Carulla, emphasizes that “one of the bets of the Government Team is to work by areas, task we are taking on with great conviction, such as the publication of this joint agenda ".
Why the name "La Traça"?
After a process of reflection and name proposals between the two councilors and the technicians of the area, this name was chosen for several reasons: “A feminine word, we like the sound it has; contained the Ç, spelling in which the Catalan language is identified; and by the different meanings that the word has: way forward, signal that leaves someone or something where it has happened, and the ability to do something. All in all, conceptually fits with what we want to do ", according to councilors Mireia Brandon and Mercè Carulla.

There will be an initial run of 1.000 copies in paper format, which can be picked up on the ground floor of the Paeria, to the library, at the Tourist Reception Center and the Museum.

Cervera organizes a week of cultural activities, of the 17 al 25 d'abril, on the occasion of St. George's Day, which includes book presentations, theatrical performances, initiatives to encourage reading, musical auditions, a theatrical visit, the Verbena and the traditional book and flower market on Guinedilda Street…
The Cervera Museum presents the catalog “Artisans Baroque. Cervera and the art of his time " of the large exhibition that could be visited in the Old Library of the University, of the end of the 2019 at the beginning of the 2020, on the occasion of Cervera Capital of Catalan Culture.

The jury of the BBVA Music Award for Individual Talent 2021 awarded the ACCAT Prize for the best interpretation of a Catalan work to the pianist Lídia Soldevila i Pons, student at the Conservatory of Cervera, for the interpretation of the “Spanish Serenade” by Joaquim Malats.
The BBVA Music Award for Individual Talent aims to promote the musical training of young student musicians to make it easier for them to dedicate themselves professionally to music.. It is convened by the Fundació Antigues Caixes Catalanes (FACC), with the support of BBVA.
Lídia Soldevila has completed her professional degree in accordion - under the tutelage of Sònia Peiró- and piano at the Conservatory of Music of Cervera, being an honorary award for achieving an excellent average·slow in his studies during the course 19/20. This year she is one of the students who will take the tests to access higher music studies.
