Cervera joins the Let's Clean Up Europe initiative 2023

The Environment Department and the Waste Management Area of ​​the County Council, with the help·collaboration and participation of La Nova de Cervera entities, the Spitillera – Segarran Studies Forum and the Segarra Natural Environment Defense Group, organize a day of cleaning the Ondara river bed.

The working day, what is open to the voluntary participation of citizens, will take place on Saturday 6 May, of the 10 them 12.30 hours. The meeting point is the laundromats in the Sant Francesc neighborhood and there will be a tour along the path of the orchards towards the Font de Fiol. Bags and gloves will be given to participants at the start of the activity, which will collect waste and classify it according to its typology (containers, paper and cardboard, glass and others).

the Cervera educational centers are also joining the initiative and they will participate in it between days 3 i 9 May.
Wednesday 3 May, the Jaume Balmes school will carry out cleaning activities in the Mas Duran park (elementary school students), around the Union (4th grade students), and around the school and Camí dels Pagesos (5And).
Friday 5 May, the 1st year ESO students of the La Segarra high school will clean three spaces: the sports area and the surroundings of the institute, the Camí de la Cardosa to the pit of Sant Magí, and from Paseo de l'Estació to Creu de les Orenetes). The educational communiqué of the Savines school will act in the Bosquet area.
Finally, Monday 9 May, the 2nd year ESO students of the Antoni Torroja high school will move to the area of ​​the walls and clean two sections: from the Path of Farmers to the laundries and from the Porta dels Pous to the laundries).

This participation will be possible thanks to the networking of the centers, the Cervera Environmental Education Plan, the Municipal Services of La Paeria de Cervera and the Waste Area of ​​the Regional Council of La Segarra.

Let’s Clean Up Europe is a common action throughout Europe to raise awareness about the amount of waste we throw uncontrolled into nature and to promote awareness actions through the collection of this waste dumped il·legally in the woods, beaches, banks of rivers, etc.
